Hi, I have used the trial version of iPi for a while (even recently ater it expired) and the mapping of my video and depth to my character worked fine. But now I decided to buy the Express version and suddenly the mapping is messed up. I used the same setting (male, 1.93 m), but the skeleton on screen is about twice the size of the figure on the video. I tried to delete the pose, which at least brings back the skeleton in T-pose, but it is still about twice the size of me in the video. Any thoughts? Thanks.

Hi What version of iPi Mocap Studio do you use? Have you recently updated the video driver? Does the problem occur on a particular project/video? Or on any new one? Or on those which were prevously tracked fine? |

I'm using Mocap Studio 3.2.5.193 But I had to switch back to using my built-in graphics card when I activated the license. During the trial I had changed Mocap Studio to use the GPU (and didn't realise it was then actually using both the built-in and the GPU graphics). So when I activated the license and opened Mocap studio from Mocal recorder I got the message that projects would be locked because of two GPUs. But Mocap studio still regards the built-in as primary so I could only switch back to the built-in. I just now tried to track the video using both GPUs active and then it tracks fine. I did follow the steps in the Wiki to make the GPU the primary, but Mocap Studio still shows the built-in as primary (see screenshot). I also restarted the PC to be sure, but it does not make a difference. DO I need to do anything else to make the GPU the primary?

If you also select NVIDIA processor as preferred in Global Settings, does that change priority in Mocap Studio? |

That doesn't help either. I even uninstalled and reinstalled Mocap Studio, but that also doesn't make a difference |

Please try running Mocap Studio by selecting GPU from context menu on the desktop icon.

Interesting, I didn't know that option existed :-) Still didn't help though. But I realised I had only focussed on the GPU management; I hadn't actully tried tracking again. So I figured I just try the tacking again, and for some reason now it worked fine. So although I still can't use my NVidia GPU, at least the tracking works again. It's weird, I tried running Mocap studio as Administrator, I did an upgrade of the NVidia software that I noticed was pending (had to redo setting the preferred GPU for the applications), but nothing led to Mocap Studio recognising the NVidia GU as primary. If you have any other suggestions for troublshooting, please let me know. The urgency is gone, but I still like to switch to the NVidia GPU at some point. |

... Have you tried disabling the integrated graphics driver in the device manager yet? Just disable it, don't uninstall anything. Since you have a dedicated card in the laptop, you don't need both graphics cards working, do you? Some machines this will cause conflicts if both are enabled. Just a thought. ... |

Thanks for the suggestion, but it also didn't help. It actually made things even stranger (see screenshot). Now Mocap studio regarded the NVidia GPU as incompatible.

Check whether there are updates of the video driver available (from your laptop's manufacturer or from NVIDIA), and install the latest driver. |
