Hi, I'm new here, absolutely beginner, and I'm really interested in motion capture.
I've decided to buy some PS3 Eye Cameras in the end, because I really want to try it with iPisoft (and looks like fun).

I need some advice from all seniors here; I'm just an ordinary guy who happens to have somewhat-basic-experience in programming, since I was taking course of coding (I'm bad at it actually).

Next year will be my last semester, and like everyone, I need to make a thesis.
My question is, is there anything code-related that basic-programmers can do from the use of mocap?
I just wanted to make my interest on mocap and my course thesis on the same road at once; think of it as a alibi to cover up my bad programming skill.

If it's possible, tell me how, or if it's not or has any other alternatives, give me some advice.

I can just point out a couple of possible directions. Mocap data is just data on the motion of the body.
If you export to BVH format, this is simple text format, but motion is hierarchical (you have offsets and rotations relative to parent joint).
If you use Biomech Add-on, you can get joint coordinates, also in text format. So you can parse BVH yourself and calculate absolute position of joints, or rely on Biomech Add-on.

Having body motion data, in your thesis you can implement some detectors.
[*] Measure length of steps and other characteristics interesting in gait analysis
[*] You can detect some gestures like waiving hand, head nod, jumps, etc.

You can search more on the Internet regarding motion analysis applications.
