Post subject:  Kinect not detected in ipirecorder
I've used ipi recorder for ages now. Got a 2nd laptop and kinect so I can use 2. The kinect configuration tool only gives off 1 error, which is a yellow warning for USB 3.0 (which nearly all usb controllers give from what I've read and is common), but the both the depth and color streams show up perfectly fine.

Only when I launch ipisoft is the option to record with a kinect not shown at all.

It seems your issue was resolved after discussion by email. I copy our recommendations to you here for other users to see.

  1. Uninstall iPi Recorder and Kinect drivers
  2. Instiall iPi Recorder again (latest version), selecting Kinect v2 during the installation
  3. Reboot, connect the Kinect to USB, make sure it works in Kinect Studio. Then run iPi Recorder. Also, if you have several USB 3.0 ports, please try the all. For each port, try to unplug / plug again (sometimes weak USB connection causes the issue).
