I've been using ipisoft on and off for a few years now and appreciate having a markerless solution for motion capture. I use 4 kinect v2 devices . I am also, always looking at other solutions. I would rather stay markerless for the flexibility of putting anyone in a session at any time. All the calibration is on me, but the performer does not deal with a lot of setup.

I was looking at Motion.Ai and was very impressed with what it can do with 4-8 gopro cameras. For one, the higher frame rate is very attractive, but the results also look very impressive. I'm curious if Ipisoft will be adding any additional tracking methods, support for higher frame rate cameras, limits and any kind of AI, improved cleanup etc.

I want to make plans for the next year of motion capture and would like to start building towards some higher quality results.

Hi, we actually have support for GoPro (and any other) action cameras via Action Cameras Pipeline:

I would recommed to give a try to Move.Ai to make sure it suits your need. AI-based tracking is usually good for typical poses and fail to track rare ones. Please also be aware that this is not in real-time.

We're working on integration of recently introduced AI-based tracking algorithms as well. The new developments should become available next year.

Thanks for the info Pas. Move.ai does not really offer any additional information via email at the moment, so it is not a viable solution at this time for me. I think the AI solve method you mentioned will be very interesting as well as some of the cleanup options in another thread that I read here. Some things that look interesting in move.ai are what looks to be a processing method that keeps things within somewhat logical limits. I imagine that your own AI processing method would help with this. Being able to start getting something more for head, hand and feet motion would be great as well. This could be some processing passes to lock feet, bend toes to the grid, that sort of thing. I personally am not looking for a realtime solution. I think the realtime streaming option is great, but realistically, I could use more help in processing the data with a bit of intelligent control.

I have used kinect v1 and v2 with ipispoft and I really like the kinect v2. I also tried ps eye cameras but was not successful in calibrating, though I may have to try that in the future. Certainly if I can get the ps eyes working, I would be encouraged to look into gopros to see if I could further enhance my captures and especially capture a higher frame rate and fidelity.

Thank you though. I am excited to see what the next year brings with these cleanup and AI processing methods.

GoPro $300 x 6 = $1800
Other Brands $38 x 6 = $228

I don't see $1572 of value in GoPro to be real with you.

Them other brands do just as good of a job 720p 120fps and website already says higher resolutions just causes problems anyways.

For that price you might as well just bite the pillow and buy a Xsens or something like that.
