This tip isn't the solution you're asking for but it might help: iPi Studio allows you to copy a pose and paste it. This means you can copy your 'good' pose before it gets altered and repaste it. Then you can track backwards and forwards from that frame.
I'm actually having to do this a lot today because I used the Kinect and the tracker keeps losing my arm position whenever it gets occluded--turns out this happens a lot when your character is sitting on the floor. :)
Anyway, I'm finding that it helps to copy a good pose from the frame just before tracking goes wacky and paste the pose where the arm becomes visible again. After I press the Refit Pose button, it's usually what I want and then I track backwards from there right through the trouble spot.
Unfortunately, the software only allows you to copy one pose at a time. It would be nice if you could save frequently used poses to a list and select which one you wish to paste.
