FYI, if you're using Kinect for Windows, you have a lot of control in iPi Recorder over how the RGB data looks--the controls are much more advanced compared to Kinect for XBox. I find this really helps when working in low light environments and for balancing any differences that occur between the two devices.
Even the built in auto gain feature with Kinect for Windows works well in a room with stable room lighting. It's probably better to use manual settings though since, with auto gain, the moving actor may affect the image and render the background removal data invalid.
I know what you mean though. It would be nice to have image adjustment controls for post processing recorded video, especially with PS Eye data.
