Using Recorder on Win 8.1, sometimes I need to close the program and restart it. Often when I do, I get this error: "Sensor is used from another application". In order to get around this, I have to restart the computer, but the kinects are not being used by any other program. It seems that recorder is not releasing them or something like that.

Any thoughts on how I can get around this without rebooting?

We have not noticed such behavior on our systems. This is possibly also related to the recent Windows updates.

Options you can try:

• Unplug the sensor and plug it again
• In Device Manager, disable and enable the Kinect device
• Restart the service named 'Kinect Management'
