Low FPS is most probably caused by camera settings and has nothing to dealwith your CPU. Please make sure you have RightLight disabled. Then manually set exposure to proper level.
In Logitech camera controls you can select camera by going to Advanced Settings-> Camera Selector. I highly recommend downloading latest camera drivers - Logitech fixed lots of driver bugs recently.
We will implement camera switching in future versions.
Can you please show your camera calibration images (photos of calibration pattern)?
By the way, if you are using QuickCam Pro 9000 then your camera field of view should be 75 degrees diagonal.
