I've looked through the trace and did not find there any clue.
One reason I can suppose is that you have (or had) MotioninJoy installed. And its drivers for PS Move are installed on all USB ports you've tried. If this is the case, you should either uninstall MiJ drivers using DS3 tool before running pairing in iPi Recorder or keep MiJ drivers and use pairing procedure in DS3 tool. With latter option, PS Move will be visible in iPi Recorder once it is paired via DS3 and turned on.

So pairing with motion joy did work for me.
I had motion joy already installed once for a ps3 controller maybe this was causing trouble.
Now everything seems to work fine, thanks for all the help!

Odd, I couldn't use MiJ with that IOGear dongle I have, wouldn't recognize it on Win 7, but would with just the native Win 7 drivers.
