Hi there, I'm new here and I'm trying to figure everything I can about I PI before I buy. Today I am wondering, can you use ANY depth sensor at all with I PI or does it specifically have to be the Kinnect 2.0? I'd like to know because I have an investor willing to buy me all the equipment I need for my project no mater the price and I want to get the best depth sensors I can instead of just settling with an ok sensor. Thanks for the help! Love 'n' Peace, Yomashi |

Hi iPi software supports several models of depth sensors which are listed in the docs http://docs.ipisoft.com/Depth_Sensors_Comparison Kinect v2 is still the best one in terms of quality and accuracy. Its main downside is that only one sensor can be connected to a single PC. So if you plan to use multiple sensors you need a separate PC/laptop for each one and use distributed recording. http://docs.ipisoft.com/Distributed_Recording If you're looking for the best possible results you can achieve with iPI then also consider a color cameras option. You can get more accurate results and bigger capture area than with depth sensors. However, there are some downsides as well. http://docs.ipisoft.com/Multiple_Depth_Sensors_vs_Web_Cameras_vs_Action_Cameras_Comparison |
