i need to record 640 X 480 at least, and at 60 fps, with 2 or 3 cameras. the main issue i had was that apart from the framerate and res, the cache thingy. i would record for 10 seconds, as it did so i could see the cache meter ticking down at the bottom of the app and then it would just stop.
it would be good to record to ram, so i get at least 1-2 minute chunks. it would also be good to set the cache file myself, or link it towindows virtual memory, so i can set aside a few gig, on top of the ram. In order to avoid frame drops if recording to disk, maybe be able to set different hard drives for each camera.
I prefer to work in frames, not video, so outputting to uncompressed tifs would be great, as long as any accidental frame drops were mirrored on both cams, so when i load the sequences into moviemento or premiere for example, they are exactly the same length. im sure you appreciate the complications that can arrive when the odd frame doesnt link up, and then from that point on everything is a frame out of sync.
Please reply when ipirecorder is ready for beta, ill give it a test before it goes live for you. thanks again. warren.
