Useful tip: Somebody in this forum recently mentioned the problem with iPi DMC defaulting to the desktop every time you want to open or save a file. Until this is fixed, make a Windows shortcut to your iPi project directory and place it on your desktop. Now when you open the file dialog, you can double-click the shortcut and you will be exactly where you need to be. Greenlaw |

I think that was me, and yes I did figure that one out fairly quickly, thanks ;) Trouble is I've got quite the folder structure within the root of the mocap folder - a dated one for the capture session which also holds the actor and the scene/calibration stuff, then a subfolder for the resultant capture files ready for putting into the HL2 models (my generic gestures alone is about 280 SMD files o.O ) It's hardly a showstopper, but it was much nicer when it stayed in the right place, I'm sure it was just a small mistake to remove that behaviour :) |

Sorry for this problem. We are desperately trying to understand why this stopped working in new version. The original idea behind the change was to improve the file saving/loading dialogs. The new version seems to work correctly on Windows 7 but upgrading to Windows 7 just because of this bug hardy makes a meaningful workaround. We'll try to fix this in next update. |

That's good to know. To confirm help confirm the problem, my main workstation is running on Vista Pro. Just one more reason I should upgrade anyway; my tablet PC is running on Win 7 and it's much nicer to use (meaning less annoying) than Vista. :) G. |

Alas I'm stuck on WinXP until my current project is finished, as half the other tools I'm using (and have no alternatives for, mostly Source SDK stuff) don't work on Vista/7. So desktop shortcuts for me until the fix comes in ^_^ |
