I seem to be getting an error when opening a AVI or MPG with teh open button, i dont know if its a codec thing but surely RAW avi should play.,

The video files you tested, can you open and play them using Windows Media Player? (this is important for debugging this problem)

Also, can you please provide an exact text of error message you are getting.

the file is a renamed .MOD file which plays as .mpg and .wmv in WMP and as .avi in VLC
Previously chucked it in Blender3D's sequencer and outputted to RAW avi but that didnt work.

.wmv Error: Cannot open file 'C:\users\{name}\Destkop\{file}.wmv
