im using ipisoft recorded to record from 2 web cam silutaneously, it only manages to record for 10 seconds, the cache thing ticks down very quickly,
i need to record at least 4 minutes of footage at a time! I have a 500 GB drive, so storage shoulkd not be an issue!

im using Phillips SPC1330NC cameras, they record at 90 FPS at 640 X 480. your software only allows me to record at 30 FPS, i need a higher framerate and to record in much longer bursts.

Please can you advise me how i resolve this matter, i need this sorting very quickly, i would like to order the studio edition once this is all working.

This is extremely urgent

Regards
Warren MacKenzie

What CPU do you have?
With current version of iPi Recorder, you should be able to record multi-camera video at 320x240 at 30 FPS. Higher resolution is not supported in current version. We are working on optimized version of iPi Recorder that should allow recording at higher resolution and higher frame rates, but its is not ready yet.

intel core 2 duo 2.5ghz 7600
4 gig of ram, and XP64

im happy to return to you guys as no one else offers full body markerless at such a decent price, but whilst you get your software firing on all cylinders would you recommend something to help me get the 2 cams recording.

i just gotta a trial of streampix 4, and that works a treat even at 80 fps, but the trial wont last long, and its well over a grand to buy!
i just need to record 2 cams at same time at 60 fps.

please please help

why dont you team up with streampix?

norpix.com sell stream pix 4, it does what ipirecorder should, if you mashed up your markerless mocap with their recording platform and created a cheap student friendly sub $1k mocap kit which used a subset of the features you both offer, youd be onto a winner. im using their trial and its excellent.

The main problem with StreamPix is that it is way too expensive.

We will eventually have support for high frame rates and high resolutions in iPi Recorder. Right now our priority is improvement of iPi Studio so development progress with iPi Recorder is not as fast as it would be. That's because spatial resolution is not the biggest problem in our system. I admit high frame rate (like 60 FPS) is a nice feature and easy to implement, we'll try to hurry it up, so you can expect it in iPi Recorder in several days from now.

i need to record 640 X 480 at least, and at 60 fps, with 2 or 3 cameras.
the main issue i had was that apart from the framerate and res, the cache thingy. i would record for 10 seconds, as it did so i could see the cache meter ticking down at the bottom of the app and then it would just stop.

it would be good to record to ram, so i get at least 1-2 minute chunks.
it would also be good to set the cache file myself, or link it towindows virtual memory, so i can set aside a few gig, on top of the ram. In order to avoid frame drops if recording to disk, maybe be able to set different hard drives for each camera.

I prefer to work in frames, not video, so outputting to uncompressed tifs would be great, as long as any accidental frame drops were mirrored on both cams, so when i load the sequences into moviemento or premiere for example, they are exactly the same length. im sure you appreciate the complications that can arrive when the odd frame doesnt link up, and then from that point on everything is a frame out of sync.

Please reply when ipirecorder is ready for beta, ill give it a test before it goes live for you.
thanks again.
warren.

Latest version of iPi Recorder has 60 FPS option. Other issues you mentioned, including performance optimizations, are hard to implement and will take long time.

(key hidden)

I registered with the username WAZMACK to use ipi recorder for facial mocap, i did this 6 weeks ago, i finally got round to trying the mocap studio for full body today, but because i registered over 30 days ago the key wont work. even though its never been used until an hour ago.

Surely the key should be activated from the second its used not when i began posting on you forum about something totally unrelated.

I tried uninstalling it and re registering with username WAZMACK2, as oppose to WAZMACK. I thought this would generate a new code for me to use, but it seems the damage is done.

I only have 1 machine that i can do this on otherwise id be on it like a shot, please can someone check to see that i have not yet begun the trial and issue me a code that works.
