I just downloaded the trial version of this program, was hoping to finally find something comparatively inexpensive to current motion capture systems, however, I havn't had a chance to use it yet because I keep getting an Unspecified Error when trying to run IPI Recorder. The Error says: Unspecified Error, I hit ok. Then another box pops up and says It is possible that your camera does not support selected resolution/framerate. Try a different resolution/framerate. After hitting ok yet another pops up that says It is also possible that your USB/Firewire is not plugged in firmly or there was a temporary camera driver glitch. Replugging your camera or restarting IPI Recorder may fix the problem. When i start the program it's reading all three of my cams, they come up in a menu with checkboxes beside them. After selecting ok thats when I get the errors. I've tried selecting different framerates and resolutions and thats a no go. I've unplugged and replugged my cams many times and that doesnt work either. I've even uninstalled and reinstalled IPI Recorder and that doesn't work. I have three Microsoft Lifecam HD - 5000 webcams, and I'm running a Dell Inspiron 537 Pentium Dual Core E5200 @ 2.50 ghz 2.49ghz 4g Ram and 64bit Vista os. |

Sorry but current version of iPi Recorder is not compatible with Microsoft Lifecam HD 5000. The problem is, iPi Recorder only supports standard 4:3 resolutions and Microsoft Lifecam HD 5000 is a widescreen 720p camera. You can try the following workaround: Delete Microsoft drivers for Lifecam HD 5000 and reboot the system. Connect the cameras. Windows should offer you to use generic UVC ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/USB_video_device_class ) drivers for your cameras. In UVC mode, your cameras should support 4:3 resolutions. Please note that recommended camera for use with iPi Desktop Mocap is Sony PlayStation Eye. http://www.ipisoft.com/en/wiki/index.ph ... ccessories |
