I've noticed a crash behaviour that is very repeatable. While tracking in DMC, I have been getting crashes of DMC (stopped working) when trying to open other programs under Windows 7 (64 bit in my case) when the screen dims which is the default action for UAC.

If the UAC setting slider is reduced to the next one down then opening another program and being prompted by UAC does not cause DMC to crash as it continues to track while waiting for a response to the dialog.

Be nice to see this fixed as it's forcing me to reduce my UAC setting just to avoid DMC crashing when opening other programs.

I know this isn't a solution but I prefer to disable UAC completely. I think this feature is less annoying in Windows 7 than it was in Vista but I still find it too disruptive. I don't necessarily recommend doing the same but my feeling is that if you're careful about what you install and which websites you go to, you may not need it. That's just my personal opinion of course. :)

Yes, now i've figured out what was crashing it, I can work around it but it'll crop up over and over i'm sure.

It's a pain when you're half way through tracking something and open another app and DMC crashes. :)

This problem will be fixed in one of future releases. Unfortunately it is not possible to fix it quickly for a variety of technical reasons. By the way, iPiStudio auto-saves your project during tracking so a crash should not result in loss of information (you may lose a few tracked frames at most).

Unless I am mistaken though. Auto save only works if you first save an initial project? For example, unless you do this, you lose any character setup, you lose all the takes, etc.

I am happy with the auto save but after losing all my takes and other things now make a habit of saving once so that it isn't a problem.

Uac isn't an issue now that I know I can work around it to stop dmc crashing for now :)
