Hello everybody,

I download the trial version of Ipi Soft, I got Kninect, installed Ipi studios and recorder, everything was OK until I connected Kinect, I got the installation wizard message which gave me two options, automatic installation (recommended) or manual installation (advanced) I chose automatic and then Wizard says it can't install hardware because can't find the drivers.
Is there any way to install Kinect drivers manually?....thanks for any help.

The Kinect drivers that I'm using are here (I had it installed before installing ipisoft):
https://github.com/avin2/SensorKinect/b ... e?raw=true

Here are full install instructions, though, with the ipisoft install:

I am able to download from the link without problems. Maybe try it without the "?raw=true" at the end.

https://github.com/avin2/SensorKinect/b ... -5.0.0.exe

EDIT: Well, it looks like taking that link just goes to the download page. From there you can click on "raw" (on the right-hand side of the screen).

It's possible you don't have OpenNI installed, either.

Hmm. When I ran the installer for the first official release for iPi Kinect support, it installed and configured the necessary drivers for me automatically. FYI, there was a change in drivers from the early beta to the final version, so if you installed an earlier trial you will want to follow the instructions in the Wiki for removing all the 'old' Kinect components, including the iPi Recorder software. Then, do a clean reinstall using the latest iPi Recorder installer from the website.

Well...I tried removing all the old Kinect components following the instructions, the wired thing is that when I connect my Kinect, I go to Device Manager and no Xbox NUI Camera, Xbox NUI Audio and Xbox NUI Motor devices are shown, I only get an unknown USB with the yellow question mark, so I couldn't manually remove those elements, I also installed everything in my 5 years old laptop and it worked perfectly.....my desktop is a Mac 8 quad core Intel Xenon running Boot Camp, do you guys think there's an incompatibility problem here?

Contrary to what it says in the FAQs, I read elsewhere in these forums that you can't run iPi Studio under Parallels, but I don't know if this applies to Boot Camp too. Hopefully, somebody from iPi Soft will clarify the issue, and get you up and running soon. Good luck!

No, it does not apply to Boot Camp. Unlike VMware or Parallels Virtual Machine, Boot Camp is just a simple dual-boot solution without virtualization so it should not cause any problems.

My guess is that this is a problem with messed up drivers installation. I recommend that you completely remove old drivers and re-install iPiRecorder. To make sure old drivers are removed, do the following:

1) Plug in your Kinect device.
2) Go to Control Panel/Device Manager and visit all devices related to Kinect. They can be under "XBox" and "PrimeSense" sections. For every device, completely remove the device and make sure to remove driver software ("Also remove drivers from the system" checkbox).
3) Reboot your PC.
4) Reinstall iPiRecorder.
