Hello !

I recorded my first kinect capture.
Everything was ok, with the exception of the following problem :

The data flow stops sometimes, and the image becomes freeze,
of course, some data is lost in the recording.

Because of that, the mocap is not complete also.
The parts of the clip that where "flowing" ok, without dropped frames, etc, where tracked very well,
but because of some segments of 2 or 3 sec. where not present ( data flow pauses or something similar ) ,
there where lapses of 2 or 3 seconds that had no data to track from.
( because the flow of the data from kinect was "paused" or "sopped" while recording )

I have done this test, recording in the internal HardDisk of my VAIO ( 5400 rpm )
After that, I suspected that the Hard Disk could be the problem ( because of poor performance ),
and I tried with and external SATA drive connected via eSATA.

Recording in the external drive, had the same problem, or worst.

Many "interruptions" in the data flow while recording.
Problems with kinect "changing some colors in the screen" from time to time.
The overall sensationwas like kinect was unstable, non predictable, etc.
(whil at the same time, being able to record a few secconds without problems,
then the roblems appear again, flow interrupted, high drop count, etc. )

Please tell if other people had experimented this problems, and please help me to know
what can I do to fix this problem, to ensure a good flow of the kinect data while recording,
and to achieve complete and continuous clips recorded from kinect without data loss while recording.

Congratulations for this product, I hope to overcome these problems with your help,
and be able to be productive with these mocap tools soon.

Thanks a lot in advance !

Gabriel

When I start to record a video the picture turns between black, blue and yellow and I can't se my body.

After a few seconds I also get a wrong message saying something about my IO buffer memory...

Probebly my computer is to old, it has only USB v2 ports and an older Video Card that probebly don“t work with Direct X10...

This can be a hardware problem. Try connecting the Kinect sensor to different USB ports.

Another possible reason for this problem is old Kinect driver, or LibUSB driver. Please check your Device Manager when Kinect is attached to your PC. What Kinect-related devices do you see? What drivers do you see in device properties? What is the path do driver file? If it is "psdrv3.sys" or "libusb0.sys"?

If this is a driver problem, you should be able to repair it by uninstalling iPiRecorder, uninstalling old driver, then re-installing iPiRecorder.

What OS do you use (exact version)?
What CPU do you use (exact model)?

Video card should not affect iPiRecorder, but iPiStudio requires a ShaderModel 4.0-compatible video card.
