I've been using the ipisoft software with the kinect and it's mostly going pretty well, however I'm having difficulty getting my feet to be positioned correctly. I've tried checking both the options for tracking shoulders and feet, and tried to auto-fit my character with the correct height, but some things simply come out incorrectly with the posturing. It keeps showing my feet slightly suspended in the air, like I'm standing on my toes. It can be assumed that my feet will always be completely flat with the floor when doing a T-pose. Is there some way to enforce this with the software? The auto-fit often likes to change that. It could be because my body proportions are probably a bit longer than average. It did correctly detect where the floor was from the depth data however.

It really depends on a lot of factors, the way the Kinect camera is positioned, the cloths you are wearing, the floor type.

When positioning the camera make sure it is somewhat level with your chest and that the floor can be seen clearly in green. Spread your feet apart a bit and make sure you are wearing some kind of socks. Also be aware of the specified position to stand away from the camera which can be found at the wiki, I found that floorboards are really bad when it comes to capturing with the Kinect.





Lastly adjusting your dummy actor to the video make sure you positioned it accurately
