| Post subject: | Had to go back to an earlier version of ipi.... |
...Not sure what happened-- But it went like this: Around the middle of last week, my mocap computer died. I was in the middle of a job, so I went out immediately and had a computer built. (All the specs were of course matched up to the ipisoft's requirements). When I went online to transfer my activation, a message popped up saying a new version was available, and I clicked "yes" to accept download/install of the latest. The next several .bvh's that I did all had crooked spines and moved extremely poorly. it was a stark difference from the batches we had created on the last machine up to that point. So, just to make sure my calibration wasn't messed up, I decided to re-calibrate my 6 camera arrangement on the new machine... It absolutely would not calibrate. All of the camera views would turn and twist out of whack, and nothing worked. I wasn't sure if there was something wrong with the machine, so as a process of elimination I completely uninstalled/deactivated iPi. Then, I went back to my downloads folder where I downloaded all of the various versions of iPi (on a separate Mac machine) and brought over a version that had a mod/creation date from fall of 2011. I installed it, it calibrated no problem, and all of my .bvh's are back to perfect again. Not sure what happened-- but I did notice in my download folder that certain versions of iPisoft were distinctive by their date modified/created. I also noticed that the latest mod date on a a download from iPi was the exact day before I set it up on the new machine. Are these dates on the downloads significant to when versions are created and put on the server? If so-- does the latest version on there now have some bugs? Or is there perhaps something I am overlooking on this new machine? Chris |
