So I've downloaded the trail version of ipi and have successively recorded some mocap with 2 kinects. However, when it comes time to opening up the footage in ipi studio it completely freezes up my system and I have to physically push the reset button on my machine to reboot. At first I thought it was the GTX 580 card I was using but then I switched it out for a GTX 550 Ti and got the exact same problem, crash and freeze. I've updated my .NET framework, updated my graphic drivers to the latest version and also tried a few beta versions of the drivers but still have the same result. Any idea what it could be? Apart from this I am really impressed with software and would like to get to the bottom of this before I consider any purchase. |

Hi This issue may be related to video codecs installed on your system. Can you list codec packs and single codecs you've installed besides those which come with Windows. Can you play that AVI file with Windows Media Player? |

Hi, I've tried running this with just the codecs supplied by windows and I've also downloaded and installed the k-lite codec pack but still get the same issue. However, now after the system crash and reboot I can no longer launch the app again or uninstall it from my machine. I have to do a system restore to get it off. Looks like that application is running under .Net 4.0 meanwhile it requires .Net 3.5 SP1. Please download and install .Net 3.5 SP1 from http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?displaylang=en&id=21 |

Hmmm Ok I got it working again thank god. The issue was with the graphics card slot. I moved my GTX 580 one slot up to the PCI Express X8 and everything works fine. I then dropped it back down to the PCI Express X16 to isolate the problem and boom... same system crash as before. |

Hey guys. The studio Im at just brought a new GTX 680 which I installed into the top PCI-E x16 slot and low and behold I get the same old system crash whenever I try to open up footage in ipi studio. What happens is that it looks like it start to load in the footage and gets to about 15fromes in it crashes the whole system, its not until it pull the GFX card out and put it into the PCI-E x8 slot that ipi studio start to work and I can load in footage. Is anyone else having this problem? Can anyone shed some light on the subject?? Cheers Dan |

Update... Have been doing some tests and I seem to be able to open up video of a single kinect in ipi studio with the GFX card in the PCI-E x16 slot. But as soon as I plug in a second kinect record some video and try and open it up in ipi studio I get the same old system freeze. Surely this can't be a GFX card memory issue, the card is brand new and has 2Gb of memory. We've purchased some PS3 eyes today so hopefully we get some better results with those tomorrow. |

As you say all works fine when you install graphics card in PCIe x8 slot, and does not work for PCIe x16 slot. Maybe it's a motherboard's issue with this slot? Are you able to run other GPU-intensive tasks without a crash when graphics is installed in PCIe x16? For example, some game or 3D benchmark. |
