Possibility of locking feet bones?

Hi guys,
currently i'm solving problem with motion capturing action of phone calling. I decided to use one Kinect camera rather than 6x PS3 camera mocap system because in my opinion it's better (maybe more precise) for small hand actions.

I was capturing standing myself half body only in front of camera. Even in Mocap studio there was good possibility to differentiate hand actions between head. I locked off foot tracking as the camera did not capturing ground. My question - is there any possibility to lock feet or just stop motion capture to track feet and make rig standing calm if it's captured half-body only?

Just curious but why did you capture only half the body data? This will likely result in less stable motion since there is less data for the tracker to work with. IMO, you should capture the full body even if you only see the upper body in your production. If the shot in your production requires only the upper body to be visible, you should frame the action that way in your animation program, not during motion capture. G.

Currently there is no way to lock body parts or bones during tracking. Though we plan to add this feature in later releases.

Ok. Thanks for a advice! I was thinking if i would be closer to Kinect it could capture my motion more precisely.

You know, to be honest, I'm not 100% sure. I've always recorded full body but this is certainly worth experimenting with. FWIW, I think you might need to include the full torso though since everything is linked to the hip. ) Let me know how it goes. G.
