| Post subject: | Error Message in DMC and Camera Calibration Tool |
Hello, I am a new comer in here although I have long time waiting the release of Shoot3D. I am very happy to try this product until I found some error that I cannot resolved. I am using a desktop computer with motherboard ABIT AX 78, processor AMD Phenom X3 8650, graphic cards nVIDIA Geforce 9500GT and RAM Corsair 2GB. I have succesfully running iPi Recorder with only one webcam and make a plan to buy more for testing. But every time I am running iPi Desktop Motion Capture and iPi Camera Calibration Tools, I always got the same error message. "iPi Studio has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for inconvenience." I am sure that my PixelView Geforce 9500 GT 512MB supported Shader Model 4.0, as the statement of product features. But I think it is because of my operating system, Windows XP, which is not supported DirectX 10 (still using DirectX 9.0c). I don't have any plan to upgrade my operating system to Vista. My friend has told me that I can apply DirectX 10 in Windows XP from third party project which has been mentioned in this website, http://blog.brothersoft.com/2008/12/10/ ... indows-xp/ So I try that. And I shoud give you information that I have installed dot net framework 3.5 sp1 full standalone before installing iPi because of very limited internet bandwidth in my place. So, I don't install from Setup. iPi Recorder has been running very well, but until now, the two other application always send the same error message. I have checked with dxdiag.exe and it says that my systems now running on DirectX 10.0. All of the test in dxdiag have been done without error. I can give the report from dxdiag to you. So, what is the problem with my computer? Shoud I install dot net framework 3.5 sp 1 from setup menu, or should I upgrade to Vista? Anybody have succesfull experience with Windows XP and its default DirectX 9.0c driver? Thank you very much for your answer. iwansuryo |

Oh, I have to add this information. Right now I am using Windows XP SP2. Should I use Windows XP SP3, beside .net framework 3.5 sp1? iwansuryo |

Hi, Your video card (Geforce 9500 GT) is completely OK, it has SM 4.0. By the way, our system uses DirectX 9, so you don't need DX 10 or Vista. The problem is apparently caused by some bug in our system. To help us track down the bug, can you please post detailed error message displayed when you click "View details" button in the error dialog. |

Also, if you have DirectX 10 for Windows XP installed, please make sure you disabled it (using KM-Software DirectX Changer). Or you can remove DirectX 10 for Windows XP completely, if you don't need it for games. I recommend that you install SP3 for XP. We do all our testing using WinXP SP3. |

I have installed a fresh Windows XP SP3 and dot net framework 3.5 sp1. After that, I still got the same problem like before. iPi Recorder work very well, but iPi Desktop Motion Capture and iPi Camera Calibration Tool always crash and give error message. Then I copy paste the header of the error signature: iPi Desktop Motion Capture Error Signature: EventType : clr20r3 P1 : ipistudio.exe P2 : 1.0.0.0 P3 : 49f13bfa P4 : presentationframework P5 : 3.0.0.0 P6 : 488f142e P7 : 6259 P8 : e1 P9 : system.windows.markup.xamlparse iPi Camera Calibration Tool Error Signature EventType : clr20r3 P1 : ipicalibrationtool.exe P2 : 1.0.0.0 P3 : 49dae6b0 P4 : presentationframework P5 : 3.0.0.0 P6 : 488f142e P7 : 6259 P8 : e1 P9 : system.windows.markup.xamlparse |

I almost give up to try this software. It seems there are bugs that cannot be resolved with whatever way. I have installed latest nVIDIA driver and tweak many parameter of display system and still got no result. Thank you for your answer. iwansuryo |

Usually it gets installed automatically when you install iPi Studio. Could it be that you canceled its installation somehow? You can install it manually from Microsoft's site: http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/deta ... laylang=en |

Thank you very much Nikonov. I have succesfully running all the program now. I am using 2 webcam logitech communicate MP now. I have read about adjusting exposure, gain and white balance parameter to get ideal frame rate. And I have found best parameter for recording in resolution of 160x120 with 25 - 30 fps. But there is another big problem! Every time I tried to record at resolution of 320 x 240, the target frame rate cannot be set higher than 10 fps. This is very strange because I always get full 10 fps if I set the target at 10 fps, and always get a crash everytime I set the target at 25 fps or 30 fps! I am using QuickCam v11.8 right now, which is the last update, and I can get high frame rate in VGA mode (640x480) with this software. This is the error message after crash: EventType : clr20r3 P1 : ipirecorder.exe P2 : 1.0.0.0 P3 : 49e914d3 P4 : mscorlib P5 : 2.0.0.0 P6 : 4889dc80 P7 : f4f P8 : 7 P9 : n3ctrye2kn3c34sgl4zqyrbfte4m13nb My computer has the same specs as above. I have set exposure parameter at very low but it give me no result. From what I read, I will get not good result if processing at resolution 160 x 120. What is the solution? Thank you. Iwan |

Suddenly, the last problem disappear!?!? I don't know why, but I am very happy. It can be recording at 320x240 right now! I hope that it will stable forever although I didn't understand why it fixed and running normally because I am not changing all the setting in my OS. Thanks. iwan |
