Hi,
I'm having major issues getting video to work with my 360 Kinect.

Here's some information: I'm running Windows 10 64bit. I've installed Kinect Runtime v1.7 and the Kinect SDK v1.0. I've also tried it with SDK 2.0. In Device Manager it shows Kinect for Windows Camera, Device, Security Control and Audio Array Control. So it sees the camera. On the Kinect itself, there is a green light blinking. Not sure if that means anything significant. In the iPi Recorder, it sees the Kinect and says it's ready. In setup there is a black screen. When I evaluate background the background is shown as a solid yellow screen. I hit record and when I hit play back it says "video does not contain any frames and can not be played."

Anyone know what to do?

Thank you,
-Drew

Hi

You should not mix different versions of Kinect 1.x Runtime and SDK. FYI, version 1.8 (download link) is recommended for iPi Recorder, though it also supports 1.6 and 1.7.

I suppose your issue may be related to USB controller. Please try different USB ports for connecting the device. If you use USB extension cable, also try without it.

Thanks for the reply.

I'm not sure what I did wrong before, but it works now. It's possible I didn't restart after I installed the SDK and the runtime.

I want to mention that I only had 1.8 installed at the time and had tried the USB 3.0s and 2.0s. But I have a feeling it's because I didn't restart my computer.

Thank you so much. I'm going to tinker with this a bit and more than likely this will be my mocap program of choice. So far it's accurate and smooth. And I feel like I'll enjoy the community too. The fast and helpful reply was welcoming.

Thanks again.
