Hi,

In the past I was able to smooth the transition between different Jitter Removal settings by touching the Trajectory Filtering but this doesn't seem to work right with build 147--I see very clear 'jumps' between the different settings, even when the settings are only slightly different. I was wondering if something had changed recently or if there was a new way to 'glue' the different settings together now.

Thanks in advance for any info.

G.

Maybe it's okay. I quit iPi Mocap Studio, restarted and tried again. This time, touching Trajectory Filtering to smooth JR transitions seems to be working. Probably just a glitch.

Okay, this is one of those glitches that's going to keep teasing me.

Now it's not working again--definitely seeing jumps between JR settings again even after bumping Trajectory Filtering from 1 to 0 and back. If I run Jitter Removal through the jump, it goes away but then a new jump just appears at the beginning of the new ROI.

Quitting and restarting iPi Mocap Studio seems to reset this so I can use this feature again but then it stops working again after a short while.

Yes, I'm sure of it now--I'm consistently seeing 'bumps' today after using different JR settings, and touching Trajectory Filtering doesn't seem to smooth out the transitions. It's weird because sometimes it seems to work and other times (like today) it doesn't.

Is anybody else seeing this problem?

I just tried quitting and restarting but that didn't help today. I wound up forcing the 'bump' to a fairly motionless moment in the motion and then copying and pasting a static pose through that ROI.

This can be a bug.

Can you please send us an example of animation with such bump? I'd like to try to debug the problem. (Just a BVH file can be enough).

Hi Michael,

Thank you for responding.

At the time I wound up applying Jitter Removal settings across longer durations to hid the 'bumps' in the motion.

This has happened more than once so I'm almost certain I will see it again. If and when it does, I'll save the example and send it to you. (I will be shooting and tracking more mocap this weekend.)

Finally got back to tracking last night and I immediately ran into described 'broken glue trick' issue. In the clip, 'Sister' is standing mostly still from frame 2882 to 3700 so I applied aggressive CJR on the legs, less agressive on torso, and moderate on the arms up until she becomes active. Then, from 3700-3942, I applied a little less CJR on the on the legs, arms and torso. The first range is 818 frames long and the second is 242. There is a very noticeable jump in the motion when the different CJR setting occurs, and no matter how much I bump the Trajectory Filter back and forth, the bump is still there.

I think I might be able to hide the bump somewhat in the middle of motion but obviously this is not an ideal solution (the bump would still be there, just not as noticeable.)

I saved a copy of the scene before applying my 'correction' and I will send you a link for this data later today.

Thanks in advance for looking into the problem for me.
