Post subject:  Recorded Movements Not Attaching to model Correctly

What I mean by this is that I record some movements and take it into the studio program. I try to use "track forward" and it begins to render but the model in the studio begins flipping out. One time the thing was curled into a ball at the edge of a stage and the other time it had one arm in the T pose and the other moving around inside it's own body.

Maybe I'm just being dense and I missed a crucial part. There is something I'm curious to if it would affect this is the fact that I'm not actually using my main computer, I once installed the trial then had to leave it due to a holiday and by the time I remembered about it, the thing had expired. So I'm using my laptop instead which may not meet processing specifications. Could that cause it to screw up?

Tracking errors do occur sometimes, not depending on hardware. This is quite normal. There are a number of ways to fix them. One that is used more often is:
  • find a frame after error where the actor's pose is good visible
  • manually adjust the model to roughly fit the actor (you can copy the pose from one of the previous good frames to do less work)
  • hit "Refit Pose"
  • if there is an error again, adjust the pose more accurate or choose another frame and repeat the above steps
  • once you have a correct pose, hit "Track Backward" to correct the erroneous frames
Once you get used to it, it's a really simple procedure.
