Hello, i am new to ipisoft and i opened up ipirecorder and selected two webcams i had(One on my laptop, and one that is connected via usb) and with i clicked set-up, i saw that my laptop webcam was working fine but my external webcam was messing up. The image showed different colors moving around like what you see when a broadcast is cancelled.. I have a logitech c170(external) webcam and a hp-webcam(built-in). Is there a way to solve this problem? Thank you P.S My external webcam works fine when i pull it up on my computer just not in the ipirecorder.

Hi

It's possible that C170 produces frame data in a format not supported by iPi Recorder.
Try choosing different video modes, maybe some of them will work.
You may also provide a trace log taken after iPi Recorder discovers devices (menu tools > show trace) to get better understanding of what happens.

Be aware that to get useful mocap data you'll need at least 3 cameras.

Thank you for responding, but each video mode i do is still the same. my video modes go from 1024 x 768 to 320 x 176. Is there another way i can try to fix it or will i need a new camera?

I cannot currently suggest you any solution, because I do not have a complete understanding of the problem's source.
A trace log (see my previous post) and a screenshot of the "noise" may help with this.

One more question came to my mind: do you have Logitech drivers installed for the camera, or just use the standard Windows drivers? If the latter, maybe installing Logitech drivers will help:
