| Post subject: | iPi Recorder crashing with 2 mixed depth sensors |
Hi, I am currently evaluating iPisoft with an Asus Xtion Pro running as a PrimeSense Carmin 1.08 (with latest firmware update) and it is running fine. To improve the captured data I decided to add a second depth sensor, but since I am in the evaluation phase I did not want to buy a second one - so I just grabbed the XBOX 360 Kinect from a friend and plugged it in. Both cameras are running on different high speed USB2.0 controllers on the same mainboard and are recognized properly by the operating system. But when I launch iPiRecoder (ver. 3.0.1.32) it crashes immediately - without any error report whatsoever. If I plug out either the PrimeSense or the Kinect device, iPiRecorder is launching just fine and the active device is working properly. Any idea what is going on? I am aware that a mix of depth sensors is not recommended, but it SHOULD work and it is what I have available right now for evaluation purposes. |

Hi What if you connect a second sensor while iPi Recorder is running, and hit the Refresh button? If your PC has another USB controller (for example, built-in USB 3.0), try connecting Kinect to it. Have you installed both OpenNI drivers and Kinect SDK with iPi Recorder, or some of them was already present on your PC? If latter case, please remove the drivers and install them re-running the iPi Recorder installer. |

Hi, After playing around with the different USB Ports on the different controllers, some USB driver cleanup (I used a freeware called USBDeview) and reinstallation of drivers and iPiRecorder I got both cameras working - thank you for your help! |
