Trying to use the latest Basic Edition (v3) with 4 ps3 eyes. I'm getting ridiculously bad tracking; even after setting the initial frame in mocap studio to be essentially perfect, the bones just fold up inside of eachother. I have set the ground plane correctly and attempted to calibrate and re-calibrate many times.

Attached are some screenshots of
Calibration (problem 1.jpg)
And what happens in Mocap Studio(problem 2.jpg)

My camera set up is 3 about 7 feet tall and 1 camera about 5 feet, each in the corners of my garage.
Anyone know why this

Hi
From the tracking screenshot I see that the model in Mocap Studio has default colors.
You should run 'Analyze Actor Colors' before you can do the tracking. As well as appropriate adjustments to the model's shape.
Please refer to this section in docs:

Yes, you need to analyze your characters colors and scale actor properly first.

Best not to use same color shirt as pants or gloves and should be long sleeve shirt, I use T-shirt over a long sleeve shirt of different colors as preferrence.

Also, with camera cpature, markered or markerless, you should clean up your capture area, back drop off entire area with a light color and direct overhead light isnt good for cameras, backlighting a light colored back drop will work much better.

ALL camera motion capture tracking system loose tracking through occlusion or some other cause, so clean up post process will be needed with ANY camera based system.

I get pretty good tracking usually, even with complex dance movements.

No sense doing that many ground points in your Cam calibration either, (at least with 4 cam set up), start at center high right above your head height, touch all 4 corners and center and dont need to do sweeping high motions for cage, it just uses more time recording and isnt needed, I stay about 2 to 3 ft off floor even when starting spiral and use approx 2000 frames or less. With new robust light tracking now in V3, no need to linger at a spot more than 1 or 2 seconds with light.

It's all preferrence and what works best for the user, so trial and error will be required.

Hope this helps, Good Luck!
