Hi,

I'm evaluating the iPi Studio 3 since a few weeks and today I'm starting tracking phase in my project.

I'm using an iMac running Windows 10 (Phew.. I know..) With an NVidia GeForce GTX 660M.

Last night I opened one of my captured video, first time on this computer and did a short tracking. I don't know what was the speed, but around 1 sec per frame for 2 actors (with 3 Kinects). ( That speed would be fine for me...)

However today my tracking is way much slower. Originally it was 0.036 FPS, with some changes in GPU settings now I have 0.045, which is still terrible.

-I have only 1 GPU, so no integrated Intel integrated card to switch off.
-Based on GPU-Z my GPU load jumps up from 0 to 98% when I'm starting the tracking. I assume it means the right GPU is used and it is "completely" utilized.
-I turned windows power options to high performance

As I said, just a day before, I've got a much better speed on the same machine. I can't recall any big change since then.

Any ideas what to check?

Hi
Do you experience this speed degradation on the same project and tracking settings, or between different projects/settings?
Check whether video driver has been updated without you noticing it.

I've a set of videos which are part of the same homework, but they are tracked in different projects.
I never managed to get back to the speed what I had originally ( I did not saved that project, so I can't even retry it.).
Since then I usually get a <0.1 FPS, which is way under anything expected. I have a 3 month licence... the really slow tracking speed will cause a huge risk on my project.

What's shown in Manage GPUs dialog in Mocap Studio?
Is there any power management setting in NVIDIA Control Panel which you can set to maximum performance?

I've checked the NVIDIA control panel but did not round any GPU power settings. I'm on an iMac ( not a laptop) so constantly plugged in.

The manage GPUs shows 1 and only 1 GPU, the NVIDIA card. ( No integrated intel card.)

Try installing different versions of drivers for your GPU. You can get the list here (use Manual Driver Search section):
http://www.geforce.com/drivers

Just in case, aren't you running Windows in some sort of virtualized environment? From your info it looks like normal OS boot, but I'm asking to be sure.

I have a fresh install of windows 10 on my iMac. I have DualBoot, so the Windows is directly booting after the windows, not from a virtualised environment.

I'll give a try to other drivers... however this is still really disappointing.

Please try to track more "simple" videos. Single actor, with 1-2 depth sensors. What performance do you get in that case?
FYI, our estimation for 3 Kinects / 2 actors video on GTX 660M (with default tracking settings) is 0.2 fps. The estimation is based on GPU performance benchmarks and known tracking speed for several tested GPUs.
