"iPi Mocap Studio 2 is not installed." Error

Hi,

I'm getting back to ipiSoft after a couple of years of being busy with other work. I recorded using iPi Recorder v2, then clicked on the S to send the file to iPi Mocap Studio. I get the following error: "iPi Mocap Studio 2 is not installed."

I tried reinstalling both recorder and mocap studio, but I still get the same error. I'm using Win 10.

I want to try right clicked the executables and running them in Windows 8 compatibility mode, but I can't find where the software is located. The shortcut points to http://files.ipisoft.com/ipirecorder2/i ... pplication

I could not find the install location for ipisoft, but I did figure out how to run it in compatibility mode, from just the shortcuts. I used Start/Run programs made for previous versions of Windows. I chose unlisted and pointed to both shortcuts one after another and set them to windows 8 compatibility.

Unfortunately, I still get the same error. iPi Recorder 2 error when I press S to send the recording to iPi Mocap Studio 2.

Anyone have this working in Windows 10 or have a way I can load the recordings in Mocap Studio without needing to use the S button?

Hi
To open an .iPiVideo file in Mocap Studio without the use of the "S" button:

Run Mocap Studio
Click File > New Project in the menu or New in the toolbar.
Locate a video file and press Open.

I've just checked the "S" button in v2 and it does not work on my Win 10 PC too, at least with v3 installed side by side. I will let you know if I find some way for it to work. However, full compatibility with Win 10 is not guaranteed for v2, unfortunately.

FYI, v2 is deployed using Microsoft ClickOnce technology which places all installed programs in a specfic storage under user profile. This storage is located in:

%USERPROFILE%\AppData\Local\Apps\2.0\

OK, looks like an installer issue. It does not have sufficient privileges to add necessary entries in Windows registry.
Running the installer of Mocap Studio with administrator's rights (right click, Run as Administrator) seems to resolve the problem.

Thanks for the reply. I uninstalled both recorder and mocap studio 2. Then I reinstalled both, running the installers as administrator. It still gives me the same error. Is there anything else I could try?

Is there a way to just load the video file into mocap studio directly?

Thanks for the note on how to bring videos directly into iPi Mocap Studio 2 (I just scrolled up and saw it now). I will try that tonight. Let me know if you have any suggestions on getting that s button to work. Administrator did not work for me.
