Hi everybody. I am currently facing an issue and need your help. I have 4 webcams in more than half circle. I perform with success the calibration: I have my green points, I set correctly the ground points and adjust the camera distances accordingly to my configuration. All seem ok. So I save this scene. Then I load my animation video and use my saved scene. At the T pose frame, I adjust the zoom and orbit of the camera 1, 2 and 3 but when I come to the camera 4, I have a problem. Indeed, I am not able to zoom enough this camera. It seems I reach the maximum available... And the avatar stays too little compared with my real model. Why ? Do I do something wrong ? I succeed in adjusting all the 4 webcams by changing the real distance between the 1 and 2 webcams in iPiSoft (so it does not correspond to the real distance). But, I am not sure it would not bring issue in tracking... Any help would be greatly appreciated. TY ! |

It is not correct usage of the software. There is no need (and sense!) to change cameras positions after calibration - doing such things you destroy scene parameters... What you really should do is to align actors model with actor images using "Move" and "Rotate" tools from the top toolbar. Please, learn this video from 00:37 to 02:10. |

Thank you for your answer. Yes I already saw this video and try to fit on it and to the calibration one too. But in my case, I am not able to do it. Because when I load my scene resulting from the callibration, I have a major problem with the height of the actor for the camera 4 notably and I do not understand why as the callibration seems to be ok. I explain myself better... If I just move and rotate the cameras and adjust the actor height, the actor height is not the right one notably for the camera 4: the "bones actor" appears as much more small as the real one. How is it possible ? |

If yes, the possible cause is narrow view angle of the 4th camera: see slide 8 here. In this case you can correct your calibration:

Thank you for your answers Andrew. I made a new try yesterday which was successfull this time. I do not know really why... But I did not touch the cameras settings after the calibration this time, only the Move, Rotate settings of the actor and it worked ! :-) Yes indeed I use PS Eye cameras. I do not understand your last recommandation... Why should I change the FOV of my last camera and set it to something wrong against the reality ? Thank you again Andrew for your help here ! |
