First of all, I'd like to thank iPi people for the iPi Recorder. It captures at 60fps at 320x960.

At this moment, I'd like to capture, using a single PS3 Eye camera, 640x480 at 60 fps. The selections on the iPi Recorder are 640x480 and 60fps, of course.
However, when I play the recorded AVI file, it shows me 4 same images on a single frame, vertically stitched as 320x960, at 60fps.

I wish I could properly adjust the settings for the 640x480@60fps with the single PS3 Eye camera.

Thanks in advance,

Bryan

The image your describing is in reality a full 640 by 480 when played back properly. The 'half-size' grayscale images use the Bayer pattern which are combined to form a full color 640 x 480 image. You can read a little about this technique in the iPi wiki and I think you can find a more detailed explanation of RAW Bayer codec in Wikipedia.

Basically, the pixels are offset to in a pattern to form the larger image with more detail rather than simply scaled up with no more detail.

Hope this helps.

Disable raw Bayer mode in camera settings when you start iPiRecorder.

I really appreciate your great comments, Greenlaw, and Michael Nikonov.

As per the suggestions, I disabled the raw mode "[]caputre raw video when available" by removing the check mark in the selection.
Now, it works perfect as I wanted. The recorded avi file gives me single 640x480 @60fps. I love the iPi recoder with my PS3 Eye camera.

I will have a look at the RAW Bayer codec in Wikipedia, and the techniques involved in the iPi software in the iPi wiki.

Thanks all,

Bryan.
