| Post subject: | Lightwave characters (and bones) |
Hey all, i have two lightwave characters which i exported as fbx and when i import them into Ipisoft, one of them just shows upper part of the bones in body where as the other shows entire skeleton. That's just one small part of the problem, i can not for some reason get them to work properly. I have been trying something every day for the past 2 weeks and still no closer to an answer. I could assign some bone before but ever since i updated ipisoft, i cant even do that now. Its for my class project which is due at the end of next week and i am really desperate here. If anybody can just please take a look at them and figure out what's wrong, ill be extremely grateful. Thanks. BVH File http://dl.dropbox.com/u/48363601/Bella.bvh FBX Files http://dl.dropbox.com/u/48363601/Bella.fbx http://dl.dropbox.com/u/48363601/Chief.fbx EDIT: Got "Bella" file to work, i need to fix its bones. Just need to get Chief file to work. I took bones from ipisoft generated bvh file and put them in Chief character. Bones and character move properly in Lightwave and motion builder but i cant get them to work in ipisoft. |

The bones of your "Chief" character do not have a common root. The LowerBack, LeftUpLeg and RightUpLeg bones grow from "Layer1" node which is not a bone (FBX attribute "IsSkeleton" is false). Character must have a tree-like bone structure (all bones growing from a single root bone) in order to be usable with iPiStudio. |

Really appreciate your help. Is there any way to salvage what i already have in there or do i need to make a new skeleton? What i did was take bones from BVH file and put them as skelegon in Lightwave Modeler. Then i converted that skelegon back to bones in Lightwave Layout. |
