Hi, I'm new to iPi, trying to do a two Kinect (and webcam) setup on my Acer Aspire laptop and am getting the "USB connector to which the Kinect sensor is attached does not have sufficient bandwidth..." error. I've done a little research and it seems my laptop has two USB 2.0 controllers, but it may be the case that one is reserved for something else (a docking station?) Assuming this is true, is there a chance that buying a docking station with USB 2.0 ports would allow me to access the unused controller? Or would this lead to depleted bandwidth anyway? Are there any other alternatives, aside from using a different machine?

I'd really appreciate any help Thanks!

Hi
Yes, there is a chance that docking station could make the second USB controller available.
To see whether all USB ports of the laptop are connected to a single USB controller, you can use the Device Manager. Plug in one Kinect, locate and select it in DM, then switch to the Devices By Connection view (menu View). Plug in second Kinect and see if it appears under the same USB controller node as the previous one. Check all available USB ports, replugging the second Kinect.
If your laptop has en ExpressCard slot, you can get additional USB controller via ExpressCard.
