Hi!
It's my first post and I'm trying out the software before buying, hoping to determine if it works for me by tomorrow before sale ends :)

I can't seem to get my setup calibrated at all. I'm using 3 Playstation Eye cameras. Here is a link to the calibration video:

My calibration video [640 MB]

1. I connected the 3 Playstation Eye cameras, all detected, arrange them left, center, right.
2. I choose the Playstation Eye Darkening for Calibration and set it to Darkening.
3. I evaluated the background. Then recorded the above calibration video.
4. I dropped the video into Studio and choose Calibration video.
5. I went into each camera and made sure that the FOV was 75 for each camera (and the PS Eye were all set to wide angle blue setting so this should be correct I guess).
6. I adjusted the rough position and elevation as the tutorial video did. My floor has tile lines to I matched the perspective lines on the floor in each view.
7. I then checked auto detect camera positions and unchecked adjust camera FOV.
8. I clicked Calibrate.
9. When it was done, the point cloud wasn't anywhere near the origin where it should be. I tried go to the frames where the marker was on the ground and clicked the Mark as Ground option. But that didn't help. I saw that after it read the file and started processing, that it actually put the markers in the right spot and all turned green. Then i n the last couple of steps of processing the cameras got assigned strange angles and positions and so it was completely messed up when finished. I couldn't manually get everything back to where it goes.

* The distance between the left and right cameras is 460 cm. The center camera is exactly halfway (230 cm) but is back about a meter. All cameras at same height, but I didn't measure that (it's a little over 250 cm, maybe 270 cm or so).

Any assistance appreciated. I really want this to work and want to adopt it as our MoCap setup but after three unsuccessful tries I'm getting doubtful.

I calibrated your video without any trouble(at the first time), although while it was doing the first pass(the red square following the light) I was thinking about few points that might be causing your problems, but when it finishes it did it very well. The green cage is there, then I check ground points and everything is fine. the ipi character is in the middle of the cage for the 3 cameras which is a good indicative. I put the distance between camera 1 and 2 at 2.30 m. I think your mistake was this "7. I then checked auto detect camera positions and unchecked adjust camera FOV" since you already placed the cameras you don't need to check auto detected camera position. Unchecked both options(camera position and FOV) and then calibrate. I'm sending you 2 files(the project and xml file)so you can start doing motion capture with your set up. keep in mind if you move the cameras(or has moved at this point) these files are now useless and you have to record another calibration video and recalibrate. good luck

Thanks very much for taking time to test this for me. I'll use your config files for now to convert my test footage.

I'll also re-run my own calibration and compare it to your results to see if I can spot what's going wrong.
