Hi All, I am new in the MoCap technology and also in this forum. I conducti a walking and running analysis project, after reading the information about iPi it looks a great tool for me. I already downloaded the trial version of iPi mocap studio but did not really cope with it. Capturing the gait cycle I use treadmill, focusing mainly on the movement of the lower limb (lumbal spine, hips, knees and ankles pronation). I would like to record the video adding a “skeleton” frame, calculating angles and exporting the data file to Matlab. My idea was to use Kinect sensor to capture the movement. Could you help me what technical background I will need to do that? How many cameras are required? What softwares should I use to manage the video and the data? Thank you for any help. Attila |

Hello, if the person is always facing the sensor, you can use single Kinect v2 for tracking. Bascially, you need Kinect sensors and regular PC for that. Please refer to step-by-step manual: http://docs.ipisoft.com/User_Guide_for_Single_Depth_Sensor_Configuration For calculations and export to Matlab you need to use Biomech Add-on: http://docs.ipisoft.com/iPi_Biomech_Add-on Our software is not for video editing, but you can export all you see in iPi Studio viewport as avi, including skeleton. |

Thank you for the quick answer. The person is actually backing the Kinect sensor, as the backside of the treadmill is open. Does it make any difference for modelling? |
