This may have been addressed before, but I thought perhaps I could contribute something useful. The Ps3 cams obviously have no tripod socket, but one can be added relatively easily. The thread on a standard tripod is 1/4-20 NC. You can purchase a tap of that size and a handle at any hardware store. You also need a drill and a vise to hold the camera base. Don't try this without a vise, as you need to hold the base securely. Start with about a 1/8" drill and then enlarge the hole to 13/64". A drop of oil doesn't hurt as you drill. Trim the bottom rubber pad away from the hole. Then you can use the tap with a bit of oil to carefully cut threads in the hole. When you are done you will have a solid tripod mount on you cams.

I use a Helicoil kit, but it's the same idea. Anyway, yes it's a good idea to mod your PS3 Eye cameras this way. The added stability makes shooting mocap a more reliable experience.

I shot a video of how to do this a while back. I'll try to get it edited and posted before then end of the month.

These forums are for discussions about using iPi DMC with PS3 Eye and Kinect for creating motion capture data so I'm not sure anybody here can help you. You might try asking these questions at a PS3 gaming forum. Good luck.
