How can I find out my Camera's FOV angle. I have a few different kinds of cameras.
Also what would be a good tool for putting 3 videos together side by side like ipi recorder?

The calibration tool in the Downloads area is for figuring out the FOV of a camera.

BTW, if you happen to be using the Logitech Quickcam Pro 9000, the FOV is about 75. This is the only one I know about.

I think would be nice if there was a list of FOVs for different cameras posted somewhere.

No.

Latest version dynamically adjusts resolution. Typically, it processes at 320x240 during first tracking pass and at 640x480 or higher during second tracking pass.

So does the system prefer video that's 480 high now? Or does iPi interpolate the 240 version for the high res pass?

Does the capture software allow you to capture at higher res? Just wondering because I think I'm only getting 240 high video now. (Without looking, I'm guessing that I will have to set the res this in the Logitech control panel.) Even if iPi Studio can use higher res, however, I'm not sure my laptop will be able to capture four cameras simultaneously at 480.

I think will have to look into this for my next session.

If you shoot video at relatively close space (under 5 meters from camera to actor) you should be OK with 320x240. The 640x480 resolution is useful for filming in large capture volume, when you need to film running, jumping, walking etc.

You can select resolutions and frame rates in iPi Recorder.

Modern dual-core laptops are not capable of filming a 3-camera video at 640x480.

You can film with 3 or more cameras at 640x480 if you have a fast CPU (quad-core or overclocked 4 GHz dual-core).

Thanks once again for the useful information! I was planning a shoot at work sometime in the next week or two, which has a much larger space for performance. I thought I would use my laptop to capture video, but with this new information, I will get permission to use one of our on-site workstations instead.

I've just found out that Logitech webcams (and possibly other webcams, too) have image quality issues at 30 frames per second:

Basically, people at Logitech forum are saying that Logitech QuickCam Pro at 640x480 @ 30 FPS looks like up-scaled 320x240.

So probably 640x480 do not have much advantage over 320x240.
