I bought used PS Eye cameras for 10 dollars each, and passive 5-meter USB cables for 3 dollars/piece. I know the developer recommends active cables, but it works with passive too, and it's much cheaper.
I am thinking about trying Xbox One Kinect and comparing the resulting quality but used Kinect Xbox One costs 100 dollars now and adapter to PC another 30 dollars :/
