| Post subject: | Kinect One adaptor Q |
Hi Just purchased a 2nd hand Kinect One (model 1520) with cable (no box or instructions etc). I believe I need an adapter for connecting to my PC's USB port. Q is: Would the "Kinect One S" be the correct adapter? (its the only one I can find listed online) or is something else required? Thanks for any advise;) |

Aaaaaargh I am in Australia, the adapter recommended is incompatable with Australian power supply. Anyone know what planet this thing is from so I can now waste money on the correct power supply? |

Okay looks like a type 'A' pin (USA), now all I need is an adapter for the adapter. Good thing I opted to only go with a one camera setup. |

Finally got the Kinect adapter & power adapter sorted but The Kinect SDK will not install, I followed the recommendation to switch of UAC but this made no difference. Has anyone else run into this issue? Windows 7 64bit i7 8gig ram UAC (off) |

Kinect 2 SDK will only run on 64-bit Windows 8+. Check this page in case you've missed some other requirements. https://developer.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/kinect/hardware-setup |

Kinect SDK v1.x supports first-generation Kinects (Kinect for XBOX 360, Kinect v1 for Windows). Kinect for XBOX One is a second-generation device which requires Kinect SDK v2 for operation. |

Okay 1 Downloaded SDK 2.0 to my other (heavier & harder to move Win10 box) . 2 Installed SDK 2.0 3 Plugged in the Kinect (usb 3 & power) which results in 3 red lights & a white lighted logo on the right of the kinect. 4 The SDK instructions say that installation will complete after it is connected but I am getting no indication that this is happening. Checked the Devices and Printers and the Kinect is listed as Unspecified. Checked the Device Manager and he Kinect is listed. Q: Is this what is expected in regards to installation? (ie: Is there anything further in regards to installation?) |
