In the beginning I had problems as well. I have many usb ports in my computer, but all ports belonging to the same mother board. I went to a shop and I bought a usb card win7 compatible and that's it, as magic everything works ok. Maybe you need to uninstall all the primesense before you insert the new usb card and then to reinstall, not necessarily .
Another thing, I decided to open my computer and give a look if I had any free sata port which I was lucky to have. I pulled a sata cable out of that port and out of the computer in which I have installed a dedicated hard disk only for IPI video recorder. And believe me, this is very important, to have a dedicated HardDisk that is not occupied by the system whatsoever. I went for the sata solution because I didn't want to buy a usb3 card and a usb3 hard disk. No drop frames.
