PS Move should provide more accurate orientation value due to having built-in magnetometer. Wii Motion Plus does not have one, so there is an accumulation of error during prolonged usage. Though we had not yet carried out thorough tests.

if i feel like just knowing the angle of the wrist would be enough, should i go for wii motion plus instead of more expensive and complex sony ps move ? i'm using only dual kinects without sony ps eye

We have both types of controllers right now. We'll be testing and comparing this weekend. Well, I hope anyway. Time has been seriously limited with the holidays and all. :p

I'm guessing that Wii Motion Plus will be adequate for capturing rotation but I think PS Move will be clearly better for props tracking. That really is just a guess because we haven't tried it yet.

In general, it sounds like PS Move is a better device for iPi DMC--if you don't already have Wii controllers, you might be better off getting them. These controllers are really not that expensive--we paid $38 each on Amazon. (Edit: I just checked and now they're $40 on Amazon--they must have raised the price for Christmas. Hmm.)

Yes, controller orientation is the only information need for hand tracking. However, as Wii Motion Plus lacks a magnetometer, its horizontal orientation may have drift issues, especially during prolonged usage. That is why we recommend PS Move - it produces more stable orientation values. No PS Eye camera is needed for recording with PS Move.

Sorry, that might have sounded confusing. By 'them', I meant PS Move controllers of course.
