Trying to install the demo version of IPI studio on windows 7 machine. It updates all the required apps but when it returns to install the ipi studio it just crashes on middle of install and reports, this program has stopped responding. Is this a known issue?

Have you managed to install? (I suppose you have, as you've also posted about error while importing video.)

I could not get it installed on my main machine had to install on a separate one.
I did solve the video issue by installing the xp codec pack though.

I have the same problem. When I start the install the splash screen says that I have everything I need to install it, after that it prompts me to install it or not. I click Install, it downloads, then it says that it has stopped working and an icon appears on the desktop. Not sure if it has installed or not but that icon crashes aswell. Windows 7 Ultimate x64, Sapphire Radeon HD 5850, AMD Phenom II x4 945, 2x2 GB Ram. I tried multiple versions. All of the 2.x versions which I tried crash and 1.3 actually installs and when it starts I see the loading screen and then it crashes again. Though I have the option to debug this time and the error is: "An unhandled exception ('System.IO.FileLoadException') occured in iPiStudio.exe [2712]." and some stuff about visual studio Just-In-Time debugging. Is there any solution to this?

Could you provide us with iPi Mocap Studio installation log. Here are the instructions to get it:

• open Windows Explorer on any folder (for example, by clicking on My Computer)
• set focus to the edit box with path (by clicking on free space within it)
• clear it (Ctrl+A, then Delete on keyboard)
• paste the following text to it: %temp%\iPiMocapStudio2InstallLog.txt
• press Enter
• as a result a Notepad should be opened with text log of installation

Let's try to find something useful in event log. Please run iPi Mocap Studio, and after it crashes, look for corresponding record in Event Viewer:

• Run eventvwr from search box in the Start Menu
• Go to Windows Logs/Application in the left tree
• Find an error record with source Application Error containing iPiMocapStudio.exe in its text. It should be near the top of the list.

And provide us with the text of this record.

OK, before we are to go next, you may try:

• Run iPi Mocap Studio with administrative privileges
• Reinstall .NET Framework 3.5

If the above suggestions do not help, we need the logs from Fusion Log Viewer. I've attached a zipped exe. If it doesn't run because of missing some DLLs, you'll need to install Windows SDK. Upon installation, you will find the shortcut for Fusion Log Viewer under Microsoft SDK > Tools folder in the Start Menu.

• Make some new folder
• Run Fusion Log Viewer with the administrative privileges (right click, Run as administrator).
• Press Settings button. In the Settings dialog:
  * check Log all binds to disk
  * check Enable custom log path
  * enter full path to the folder you've created
  * press OK
• Launch iPi Mocap Studio, wait for it to crash
• Close Fusion Log Viewer
• The folder should be filled with some subfolders and files
• Zip and attach the contents of that folder

The two solutions above you suggested do not work. I have tried to reinstall .Net Framework 3.5 but it's nowhere to be found in Programs and Features so I did some research and found out that .Net Framework 3.5 is part of the OS and therefore I can't install it since it is already there. And I don't know how to uninstall it if possible. So I did what you asked with the Fusion Log Viewer and I've attached a zip of the contents of the folder I made.
