Here's the original 180 footage re-calibrated after manually rotating camera #2 around 180 degrees.

The camera and figure now appears to be correctly positioned. However, the 'hidden' background now looks very messy. Rotating the camera has apparently thrown off background subtraction.

Maybe this is not important for tracking--I'll know in a bit.

It seems to be tracking correctly so far. Even so, I think I'll switch back to the 90 degree configuration since that appears to be working more correctly at this time. (For me anyway.)

I can't seem to access the Kinect for Windows Properties panel in 147 like I could in 146 and earlier. Has this feature been removed?

Edit: After quitting and restarting Recorder, I now have access to Properties again. Never mind. :)

I was wondering why the Properties button seems to 'appear' and 'disappear' and I finally realized that it only 'appears' when the Kinect viewports are expanded to larger size.

If you do not see the Properties button (when 'mouse hovering' over the viewport,) try dragging the Recorder window larger or expanding it to full screen. BTW, the Kinect viewports may 'shrink' in size if you're also using PS Move or Wii Motion Plus controllers because these items need to cover the lower portion of the window. Dragging the window vertically taller will make room for larger Kinect windows above and expand them.

Obviously, this is not a bug--I'm just mentioning this for the benefit of other users who may find this confusing.

I imagine when the auto restore window size feature just added to Mocap Studio is implemented in Recorder, this issue will go away (assuming the window size was made bigger during previous session.)

Hi guys,

Auto Detection for 90/180 doesn't seem to work very well for 90 degree capture either. In the example below, the devices are set apart to less than 90 degrees--this was the configuration I used during the Happy Box production.

As you can see here, this time the system assumes I'm using the 180 degree configuration. Perhaps it's best to give this decision back to the user, or at least make it optional?

Thanks for listening.

Question: Is 90/180 detection based on the angle the board is held at to the Kinect sensors? It just occurred to me that tipping the board slightly upward probably tells the software if calibration was recorded at 90 or 180 degrees. (i.e., angled means 90 or less, vertical means 180.) If that's the case, this probably should be explained in the wiki since the configuration decision is no longer made by the user.

I was wondering this because tipping the board upward is what I normally do for 90 degree calibration but I just happened to not be doing that in the previous test. (Using the PS3 to control recording with one hand, so I got 'lazy' with the other.)

That said, this doesn't explain why my 180 degree calibration is consistently assumed to be 90 degrees.

Anyway, will try again with proper 'tipping'.

No

The important thing is to move (left, right, forward, backward) your board withing capture volume.

It seems to have become quite difficult to get a good calibration with the latest build. The following is the less than 90 setup I typically use. This configuration has never given me trouble before but 147 seems to fail at calibrating this basic setup almost every time.

So far, 147 has been very problematic for me. I'm going to try re-installing the software and see if that helps.

Greenlaw, could you please share with us your problematic calibration video. We'll try to fix it ASAP.
