How much do you move the board? The movements range should be at least half meter.

A good amount but not too far... Probably at most half a meter...I'll try more distance on the movement of the card. I'll let you know how it goes. Thanks! :)

The more you can move it the better. In addition to telling the system this is a 180 configuration, the deeper z-movement of the board makes it clearer to software which Kinect is the 'front' device and which is the 'rear'.

In the latest version new calibration approach is introduced: http://wiki.ipisoft.com/Dual_Depth_Sensor_Calibration_using_Flashlight. You can try it.

The new calibration sounds interesting. The instructions are vague about the situation in which this method may work better than the board method--could you clarify?

Thanks in advance for info! :)

It depends on board size and surface structure, also it depends on depth map quality from sensors (their mutual interference). Besides, now we performed only our own tests for limited number of configuration and sensor models. It's worth to wait for users feedback.

But I should say that based on our internal tests new approach looks very promising.

Thank you for the info Andrew, that was very helpful.

I'll try the new method in our next capture session and be sure to let you guys know how well it works for us. (Which should be in a three or four weeks. Currently I'm distracted by another short film project for Gothtober but we're hoping this one gets done quickly because there's is no cg involved--then it's back to iPi and finishing 'B2'.) :)
