If you buy Kinects for XBOX, then you will also need power adapters for them. If you consider buying Kinect for Windows, then take a look also on PrimeSense Carmine 1.08 sensors - they are more compact, more light, produce less noise, and do not require external power at all. Unfortunately, in change, Carmine sensors have poorer compatibility with USB 3.0 controllers than Kinects, so it is better to test it with your laptop beforehand, or try to connect the manufacturer on compatibility with USB 3.0 controller in your laptop.
You'll also need a calibration board - something thin rectangular lightweight object, like a foamboard, of the minimum size 50x70cm. Regarding mounts - you can find several options at our web site:
http://ipisoft.com/store/hardware/To wait or not to wait for Kinect 2? If you want to start doing mocap this year, I recommend not to wait. Kinect 2 bundled with XBOX One is not expected to be connectable to a PC and supported by Kinect SDK. And most probably it won't be sold separately from the console, at least for the first time. The ETA for Kinect 2 for Windows is somewhat later than XBOX One, maybe the beginning of the next year.
