Oh Yeah, I remember now you use LightWave a lot, well iClone is no competition for that, but iClone may as you say, work for easier, quicker turn-around of small projects.

Blender is very powerful too, but being open source, it is scattered in its UI format, but can be used like LightWave, or similarly and it is free, for now anyway, I think as it gets better they will start charging, was stated in their last conference anyway.

It is hard to change your workflow after you get setup and working quickly, takes years most times to get proficient with a package and who really wants to hop from program to program when not needed, many now all do the same stuff.

C4D is awesome too, but I just don't have the time to learn it, and not a very requested format to use it.

LightWave is still at a reasonable cost to buy, but like many, they update so fast and try to get that upgrade charge too fast, but you don't need to upgrade as fast as they want, if happy with prior version for a while, so that's still good, unlike a sub where users have no choice.

I try to only post tests here, just so new users can view basic tracking outcomes achievable, but of course not all can get that with PS Eyes, as they are a bit finicky for room conditions and performer set up, but if can get it good, they output a much more realistic animation, IMO of course :)

I will upload a few more tests, just waiting to see when iPi can adjust some of the glitchy leg tracking issues I am experiencing now, and I am sure they will improve it soon.

Example of lower lighting, (5-40 W screw in florescent cans, with bulb filter and extended shield to eliminate over shine on to walls), 6 PS Eyes recording and the tracking processed with 1 pass track forward, no tracking loss, 1 pass refine and JR with 3 Moves all processed with low res speed, shoulder by video, head on, very flex spine.

Actual video quality was grainy, but YouTube shows even worse quality, it shows large smudging after compression which aren't present in the actual PS Eye videos.

This would have been unachievable as well in V3, tracking loss throughout would have occurred with much less quality of exported animation with only this much basic processing.

This was just a character overlay informational test to show what lower lighting and less than optimal background view using PS Eye cams will record and track with minimal auto-clean processing in V4, I do not record under this lighting and background view condition normally.

If you don't think this is comparable and usable animation to any other budget program for mocap, especially under this video quality condition, I don't know what to tell you, especially if your recording conditions are better.

Total processing time for this 30 sec. animation to this point, only cleaned with integral iPi auto-clean methods, was 30 minutes with my machine configuration.

Snapz, that is really nice mocap. especially taking into account that you did this under low light with grainy video. Don't know how you pulled off the crouching scene. Gotta try that now that I have v4. Thanks for the video.

I've been away for quite some time, this is indeed a great news.
