hey everyone, I have a dual kinectV2 system and I want to record people's simple straight walk and 1 turnaround for biomedical purposes. so u see the gestures aren't too complicated but I need fairly good accuracy. now I was wondering what is the maximum capturing area with dual Kinect system? and with which camera setup will I achieve that (180/90)?
my room is rather large 8*6 meters so I don't have problems.
I really appreciate it if you could help me. thanks

Hi
The capture area for Kinect v2 is typically about 2.5x2.5 meters. As the distance between a camera and a person should be in the range from 2.5-3 m to 5-6 m. Closer, a person may not fit full-height. Further, the quality of depth data degrades substantially.
As you mention the full turnaround motion, I'd recommend a 180 degrees setup. You can get the max distance of ~3.5-4 m if a person walks by the diagonal between two cameras, not straightly from one to another.

thank you so much, i really need 3.5 meters walkway, it would be awesome.
and i was wondering in the 180 setup the distance between cameras should be 6m?

The ideal distance to maximize the capture area is 7-8 m.
