Hi,

I have just bought the 2 sensor version for 3 months. It is great!
I am writing because I am looking for an advice.
My machine is a i9 9900k with a 4080 rtx. 32 GB RAM. 512 ssd.
My output: live link in unreal, I am sending motion using ipi studio, Kinect V2 and ipi recorder. In Unreal I am playing in VR.

The question is: can I outsource just a part of ipisoft on a second computer? I understand it is possibile but I am wondering what is the best thing to outsource: just ipi recorder? Ipi recorder and ipi studio together? I see it as a functional choice as long as this second machine is not going to cost me 1000 euros. Otherwise I prefer to lower specs on Unreal and use the same machine. But, as long as the second machine is affordable I would go for that.

I just need to maximise in order to exploit as much as possible the 4080 for Unreal.

What can you suggest me? Thanks!!

Alessandro

In fact I found information for animation making with distributed recording but not for real time recording. Is that the thing? Distributed recording does not work for live? Thanks

Real time tracking is available only for depth sensors like Kinect. More information can be found here:
https://docs.ipisoft.com/Real-time_Tracking_for_Live_Preview

Also, you can combine real time tracking with animation streaming to Unreal/Unity to see tracking results inside Unreal/Unity right during live session:
